Along the River and Inland
Our service area follows the St. Lawrence River through Leeds and Grenville and reaches inland to nearby villages. The conditions differ a little from place to place, but the seasonal pattern is shared: winter freezing and thawing, a wet spring melt and humid summers.
Brockville
Brockville sits on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River and is known as the City of the 1000 Islands. As one of Ontario's oldest communities, first settled in 1785, it has a wide mix of homes, from older properties near the river to newer neighbourhoods, and a correspondingly wide mix of foundation types.
Prescott and Maitland
East of Brockville along the river, Prescott and Maitland include homes of many ages. Spring melt and heavy rain are the usual times for seepage and sump pump strain.
Athens and Lyn
North and west of Brockville, Athens and Lyn include village homes and rural properties. Rural houses often rely on a sump pump and their own grading and drainage, which makes regular pump checks especially worthwhile.
Gananoque, Mallorytown and the 1000 Islands area
Gananoque, Mallorytown and the 1000 Islands area include year round homes and seasonal cottages. Properties that sit closed for part of the year can develop leaks, humidity problems or mould with nobody there to notice, so a spring check of the basement or crawl area is a good habit.
